We expect competition, not violence: CEC

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has said that we expect competition but not violence centering the national election.

The CEC said this while briefing executive magistrates at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon area of the city on Wednesday.

It is embarrassed over the attack on BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Isalm Alamgir's motorcade in Thakurgaon and a clash in Noakhali where a Jubo League leader was killed, he said.

EC is deeply saddened and embarrassed for such undesired incidents. The worth of a person's life is much greater than the whole election, he added.
