What Parash says after being elected Jubo League chairman

Newly-elected chairman of Awami Jubo League Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash on Saturday called upon the young generation of the country to work for materialising the second revolution, dreamt by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“The second revolution programme was not carried out due to the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members. In an attempt to materialise Bangabandhu’s second revolution, his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. I will work with the activists of Jubo League in this regard,” he said.

Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash came up with the remarks while talking with newsmen after he was elected the new chairman of Jubo League, the youth wing of ruling Awami League (AL), on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier, AL general secretary Obaidul Quader announced his name as the new president after the end of the second session of the 7th national congress of the organisation, held at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.

Parash, the eldest son of Jubo League founder Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni, said, “Awami League general secretary late Syed Ashraful Islam once said that Awami League is a name of emotion, created by the sacrifices and blood of lakhs of martyrs. I am a son of a martyr. Politics has taken away nearly everything from me and my brother Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh.”

“I will perform the sacred duty, bestowed on me, with sincerity and honesty. I will stand beside you not as the chairman of Jubo League but as an activist of the organisation,” he added.
