The dreamed Padma Bridge is becoming ready for vehicular movement as the work of all 42 pillars has completed, and 27 spans have been installed out of 41 so far.
The rest 14 spans are expected to be installed by August.
Work of the last pillar of Padma Bridge was completed at 10.00pm on Tuesday.
Project Director of Padma Bridge Shafikul Islam confirmed the news.
He said the last pillar will be in strong shape within the next three days, and it will able to take full load by the month.
The work of Padma Bridge started four years ago. The project has overcome the biggest challenge through finishing the work of 42nd pillar. Occasionally the work has been delayed for over a year due to the complexity of the pillars.
China Major Bridge Engineering Company said that 39 spans out of 41 had come to Mawa and the work of rest two pillars is going on in China. Already 27 spans have been installed and 4050 kilometres of Padma bridge is visible now. Then the whole bridge will be visible together. The remaining two-pillar will left China for Bangladesh by April 20.
