The world leaders have been urged to take an immediate action to resolve the Rohingya crisis.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen made the call when UK State Minister Lord Ahmad talked to him over phone on Monday.
The UK minister requested him to give shelter to the Rohingyas who are floating in sea after failing to enter the country, says a press release.
Bangladesh, despite of being a developing country and with limited resources, has already sheltered 1.1 million Rohingyas and shelter to the 500 Rohingya is very little compared to that. The Royal Ships of the United Kingdom can rescue and shelter the Rohingyas. Other countries of the world, especially the developed countries, should come forward to help the Rohingyas, the foreign minister told Lord Ahmad.
Dr Momen also urged UK to set a special fund to save Bangladesh's garments sector in the time of Covid-19 outbreak.
Bangladesh will send medical supports to the United Kingdom for coronavirus, said the foreign minister.
