Writ seeks directive on providing anti-rape device to women

A writ petition has been filed with the High Court (HC) seeking a directive on providing anti-rape device to women in order to prevent sexual abuse.

In the writ, it has been urged to issue a rule as to why adequate security measures to protect the honour and dignity of women should not be adopted.

An instruction has also been sought in the writ to form a specialized committee to bring anti-rape device from abroad.

A hearing on the writ petition may be held in the HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim on Sunday.

Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) and Children's Charity Bangladesh Foundation (CCB Foundation) filed the writ.
