Youth stabbed dead while returning home to see dead father

Muggers stabbed a youth to death on his way to Bogura to see his dead father.

The incident took place at Kaliakoir on Dhaka-Bogura highway in Gazipur on Saturday midnight.

According to locals and Sonaltola police station, Ramzan Ali Mondal, 55, resident of Uttar Karamza under Pakulla union parishad of Sonatola upazila, died of cardiac arrest on Saturday. Being informed, his son Rashed Imran, 27, who worked in Dhaka, started for home to see his dead father for the last time. On his way at Kaliakoir on Saturday midnight, he fell victim to muggers. The muggers stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot. Being informed, Kaliakoir police recovered the body and took it to the police station. They contacted with Pakulla union parishad chairman after they found his ID card with him. Later, relatives rushed to the police station and received the body.

Abdullah Al Masud Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonatola Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said though Rashed was resident of Sonatola, case was filed under Kaliakoir police station as the incident took place there.
