BNP, family differ over Saka’s mercy

Staff Correspondent: BNP and family of death-row convict Salauddin Quader Chowdhury have expressed different opinions over seeking presidential mercy.

In absence of Saka’s wife Farhat Quader Chowdhury, BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy at a press conference at BNP Chairperson`s Gulshan Office in the city on Saturday noon said, "Salauddin Quader won’t seek mercy."

Meanwhile, Salauddin Quader Chowdhury has formally sought mercy in jail.

Farhat Quader said, "It’s up to Salauddin Quader whether he will seek mercy or not."
