Admission test to the government and private dental colleges and the dental units of medical colleges for the 2023-24 academic session will be held tomorrow, Friday (March 8).
The exam will begin at 10am and continue till 11am.
This time, 93 candidates will vie for each seat.
As per the notification, the merit list will be determined by deducting five marks from the aggregated marks for candidates who have passed the HSC, ‘A’ level or equivalent examination the previous year. For students admitted to a government medical college or dental college or unit, the penalty will be 10 marks.
In the written test, 100 questions will carry 1 mark each as per HSC or equivalent syllabus. Subject-wise division: Physics 20, Chemistry 25, Biology 30, English 15 and General Knowledge (Bangladesh History and Liberation War) 10 marks.
Each wrong answer will cost 0.25 marks. The minimum pass mark is 40.
The admission test application process started on January 15 and continued until February 3. This time, 50,491 candidates have applied to participate in the entrance exam.
There are 540 seats in the dental units of the government dental college and eight medical colleges in the country.
