TCB to sell onions at Tk 40 per kg 

First shipment of onions imported from India arrived in Dhaka on Sunday night. The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will sell the onions at Tk 40 per kilogram from tomorrow (2 April) through open market sales (OMS) on trucks.

State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu will inaugurate the programme at around 10:00am at the TCB Bhaban in Karwan Bazar. 

TCB has cut the price from Tk 50 to Tk 40 per kg.

According to the TCB, onions imported from India will be sold at 103 spots of Dhaka, 55 spots of Chattogram and 17-20 spots of Gazipur. 

Each TCB truck will have at least 10 tonnes of onions, a TCB official said.
