Gold price hits new record

The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) has raised the price of gold by Tk 1,889 to Tk 141,951 per bhori (11.664 grams).

The committee took the decision at a meeting held on Tuesday.

The price of 22-carat gold will now be Tk12,170 per gram and 21-carat Tk11,617 per gram, reads a press release.

The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk9,957 a gram while that of traditional gold at Tk8,181 per gram.

New tariffs would come into effect on Wednesday, the release added.
