Walton’s founding chairman SM Nazrul Islam
The seventh death anniversary of SM Nazrul Islam, founding chairman of the country’s leading electrical and electronics, home and kitchen appliance and digital device manufacturing and marketing company Walton Group, is being observed today (Tuesday).
He died on December 17 in 2017 at the age of 93 while undergoing treatment in the capital’s Apollo Hospital.
He was laid to eternal rest at his family graveyard of Tangail’s Gosaijoair.
Marking the seventh death anniversary, a milad mehfil and discussion will be held at 4:00pm after Asr prayer at the corporate office of Walton Group in the capital’s Bashundhara residential area (Plot-1088, Road-80 ft-2, Block-I).
On behalf of the family, his elder son SM Nurul Alam Rizvi has sought doa from countrymen for his father.
SM Nazrul Islam was born on May 7 in 1928 in a respected Muslim family at Gosaijoair village under Tangail sadar upazila.
His father was SM Atahar Ali Talukder and mother Samsun Nahar.
He established Rizvi and Brothers (RB Group) in 1977, and then named it as Walton Group.
