Inflation rate declines in December

Inflation in the country eased slightly to 10.89 per cent in December, the last month of the year. At the same time, food inflation was 12.92 percent.
The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) released the updated numbers on point-to-point inflation on Monday (December 6).
According to BBS data, food inflation decreased to 12.92 percent in December, from 13.80 percent in November. Non-food inflation decreased to 9.26 percent, from 9.39 percent in the previous month.
Rural inflation was 11.09 percent in December, compared to 11.53 percent in November. On the other hand, urban inflation was 10.84 percent in December, compared to 11.37 percent in November.
