NBR doubles taxes on motorbike, AC, refrigerator makers

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has set the income tax rate at 20 per cent for companies manufacturing motorcycles, refrigerators, air conditioners, and compressors.

A gazette notification, signed by NBR chairman Abdur Rahman Khan, was issued in this regard.

The revised income tax rate will be effective from 2025-26 fiscal year, which will remain in force till June 30, 2032, according to the notification.

Currently, the companies pay a 10 per cent tax on their income.
