Bangladesh has officially entered the global halal market, a multi-billion-dollar industry, with a growing demand for Bangladeshi skincare and cosmetic products in markets across the Middle East and beyond. 

As the country gains increasing recognition on the international stage, it has secured export orders from several nations, including those in the Middle East and Azerbaijan. 

Halal products from Bangladesh are now being exported, with the upcoming Dubai Derma event in April set to showcase these offerings. Industry experts anticipate the event will serve as a significant platform, positioning Bangladesh as a key player in the global halal market.

The historic announcement of Bangladesh's entry into the expansive export market was made on Sunday at a prestigious event held at the Sheraton Hotel in Banani, Dhaka. 

Remark's Director, megastar Shakib Khan delivered the announcement before a distinguished audience, which included top cricketers such as Taskin Ahmed, Sabbir Rahman, and Tanzid Hasan Tamim, alongside Remark-Herlan’s Executive Director and renowned actor Mamnun Hasan Emon, and other notable members of the Remark family.

Expressing his excitement, Shakib Khan remarked, “Until now, no company from Bangladesh has ventured into this sector, but Remark HB has made history. With Remark, Bangladesh has now entered the global halal cosmetics, skincare, and personal care market, a multi-billion-dollar industry. Through products like Lily Halal Beauty Soap and Olin Halal Lip Balm, Remark is poised to launch its business on the global stage in this thriving market.”

I am confident that with Remark’s leadership in the expanding halal market, Bangladesh will soon establish a strong presence, generate foreign currency, and make a significant contribution to the nation’s economy."

The global trend of using halal cosmetics is steadily gaining momentum, not just among Muslims, but also among non-Muslims, due to their safe and ethical qualities. As a result, the demand for halal cosmetics and skincare products is rapidly increasing in both Muslim and non-Muslim countries.

Initially, Remark will launch its operations in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Malaysia, and Azerbaijan. Remark plans to expand its reach to additional countries soon, driven by innovation and stringent quality control, in a market projected to grow at 8%. This promising growth trajectory will enable Remark to broaden its global presence. The journey will begin with 8 halal products under the Lily and Olin brands, which will rapidly grow into a diverse range of over 100 halal products.
