Walton starts export of its fridge’s parts to Indonesia

Staff Correspondent: The country’s electronics giant Walton for the first time exported locally made various sorts of parts of fridges to Indonesia, an island country in Southeast Asian region and also the largest Muslim in the country.

On Thursday last, a container ship left Chittagong port with Walton made fridge parts for Indonesia in response to an order by an Indonesian fridge manufacturing company.

The exported parts are included: compressors, refrigerators doors, refrigerator door hinges, drawers, door plastic shelf, refrigerator cabinet body, power cables and plugs, poly bags, carton packages box for refrigerator with poly foam etc.

To this extent, Walton Group’s International Marketing Head Md. Roquibul Islam said, Walton has been exporting world-class fridges to more than 20 countries of Asia, Middle-east and Africa regions. Now, the new mission of Walton and Bangladesh is to make a strong foot on the international market with ‘Made in Bangladesh’ labeled different sorts of parts of refrigerators, he said adding: “Implementation of that mission has been started through sending fridges’ parts to Indonesia.”

He hoped that Walton made fridges’ parts would be exported to most of the refrigerator manufacturing units of the world’s different countries in future.

Walton authorities said, they installed state-of-the art technologies and advanced machineries at the refrigerator manufacturing unit of Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited in Chandra, Gazipur, an outskirt of the capital, to manufacture world-class different types of fridges like huge power efficient frost and non-frost refrigerators with inverter technology’s compressors, tempered glass door refrigerators, IoT based smart refrigerators that could be operated by the users’ smartphones from any corner of the world.

Engineers of Walton RnD said they are manufacturing world-class refrigerators and different sorts of parts like compressors with the world’s latest technology; gasket, gas-stripe and magnetic-stripe using non-phthalate plasticizer with the European technology’s extrusion machine, automatic magnet insertion machine and welding machine; refrigerator body, refrigerator door hinge, inner cabinet body, drawer, door plastic shelf etc.

Walton Group’s Senior Operative Director Uday Hakim said, most of the global fridge manufacturing companies outsourced different parts of parts outsourced different sorts of parts to manufacture their respective brand’s refrigerators rather than producing all essential parts.

In this case, he said, Bangladeshi brand Walton is manufacturing not only different technologies fridges with eye-catching designs but also all essential parts of fridges at its own factory.

As a result, Walton has been able to ensure international standard of its produced fridges and thus they are bringing huge foreign currencies through export, he said adding, “I think that export of fridge’s parts would further increase the positive image of Bangladesh in the global hi-tech appliances markets.

The industry insiders said the local brand Walton is opening up new era in the country’s electronics appliances manufacturing industry. The latest initiative of Walton has smoothed the implementation path of the incumbent government’s vision of registering US$ 60 billion export earnings by 2021.
