Price for agricultural products to be fixed: Muhith

Special Correspondent: Finance Minister AMA Muhith said the country has achieved a significant progress in the agricultural sector. The government is providing all sorts of supports for the development of the agricultural sector.

There is an allegation that farmers are not getting fair price of the products produced by them. Now the government is very careful about the issue. Necessary steps will be taken to fix fair price of the agricultural products, he said.

The finance minister was addressing as the chief guest at a pre-budget meeting, titled “Budget to Materialize the Dreams” at the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Monday.

Bangladesh Study Trust organised the meeting to discuss about the outline of the expectation and achieve in the upcoming budget.

Economic Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr. Mashiur Rahman, former Advisor of the Caretaker Government Mirza Azizul Islam, Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) Chairman Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Member (Senior Secretary) of the General Economics Division (GED) Dr. Shamsul Alam, among others, took part in the discussion.

Bangladesh Study Trust Chairman Dr AK Abdul Momen presided over the meeting.
