MD’s resignation won’t affect BASIC Bank: Muhith

Special Correspondent: Finance Minister AMA Muhith has said that resignation of Muhammad Awal Khan as managing director will not affect BASIC Bank.

The minister said this to journalists at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

Muhammad Awal Khan stepped down as the managing director (MD) of controversy and loan scam-hit BASIC Bank on August 14.

Awal Khan joined the loan-scam hit bank on November 1 last year for three years.

Previously, Awal served as the MDs of state-run Bangladesh Krishi Bank and Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, and deputy managing director of Agrani Bank Ltd.
