Bank transaction time extended by half an hour

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has once again extended the banking hours by 30 minutes to 1 pm in an attempt to contain the spread of pandemuc coronavirus or COVID-19.
The central bank issued a circular in this regard on Thursday (April 16).
Banks will now remain open until 2pm and conduct customer transactions between 10 am to 1 pm from April 19, according to the BB circular.
The decision was taken to resolve various banking problems during the countrwide lockdown enforced due to coronavirus, the circular read.
Initially, the banking hours were fixed from 10 am to 12 pm with the banks remaining open until 1.30 pm.
On April 2, the banking hours were extended to 1 pm for customers, with the banks remaining open until 3 pm.
The central bank on April 9 ordered banks to conduct customer transactions between 10 am to 12.30 pm after some bankers were diagnosed with the coronavirus.
