Dollar exchange rate increases again

The exchange rate of US dollar has increased again, making Taka devaluated once again by taka 0.50.
The Central Bank on Tuesday (June 28) sold dollar at Taka 93.45 which was Taka 92.95 on Monday (June 27).
The dollar rate rose 12 times in two months. The value of taka decreased by Taka 7 during the period. Earlier, on May 29, the central bank fixed the unified dollar rate at Tk 89 in the country. But later the rate was cancelled and the dollar price was left on the situation of market. Since, the price of dollar increased 9 times.
Bangladesh Bank spokesman and executive director Serajul Islam said the central bank had sold 4.42 crore dollar to banks at Tk 93.45 per dollar on Tuesday.
