Govt to import 1.10cr litres of soybean oil from Brazil

The Ministry of Commerce has taken an initiative to import of 1.10 crore litres of soybean oil from Brazil through international tender in a bid to meet local demand.

Dubai-based supplier Red Planet Trading Co. LLC will supply the soybean oil. Per litre price will be 1.33 dollars, and the total cost will be 156 crore 54 lakh taka.

The government has a plan to procure 2.61crore litres of soybean oil for the state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) in the financial year of 2022-2023.

TCB sent a proposal to the Ministry of Commerce on March 23 to purchase 1.10 crore liters of soybean oil.
