JnU gets Prof Sadeka Halim as its new VC

Jagannath University (JnU) has got Dhaka University’s Sociology Department Professor Dr Sadeka Halim as its first female vice-chancellor (VC).

A notification, signed by deputy secretary of the ministry of education Mst Roksana Begum, confirmed the appointment on Thursday (November 30).

Sadeka Halim, the DU Sociology dept Chairman and former dean of the Social Science Faculty, replaced JnU VC Prof Dr Imdadul Haque who breathed his last on November 11.

By approval of President Mohammed Shahabuddin and according to section 10(1) of Jagannath University Act, 2005, Sadeka Halim was made the sixth VC of the university for four years.
