DU students return to classes

After more than three months of closure following the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Dhaka University (DU) resumed its academic activities on Sunday (September 22).
Classes and exams were seen beginning from 8am, with students from dormitories and off-campus locations returning to the campus.
After the summer vacation and Eid-ul-Azha holiday ended on June 2, the Dhaka University campus reopened on July 1, but university teachers began protesting against the government-declared universal pension scheme.
From July 5, students started protesting for quota reform. Both parties declared a boycott of classes and exams until their demands were met.
Following various incidents, nearly three and a half months later, Dhaka University students have returned to their classes today.
Meanwhile, university students have expressed their excitement and relief at being able to return to classes after more than three months of closure.
