Politics banned in BRUR: VC

Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) authorities decided to ban all types of political activities on campus.
At the same time, the authority also decided to take steps against the teachers, students, officers and employees who took position against the anti-discrimination movement and got involved in the killing of Abu Sayed.
Vice Chancellor Prof Shawkat Ali said these in a press briefing after a syndicate meeting around 2:30pm on Monday noon (October 28).
No teacher, officer, or employee of the university can be a member of any political organization. If anyone gets involved then action will be taken against them according to the university gazette, he said.
He also said that according to a university probe, 91 individuals – two teachers, seven officials, and 72 students – have been identified as avoiding work since July 16, with alleged involvement in Sayed's death.
