Covered van set ablaze in Gazipur’s Kaliganj

Miscreants have set a covered van on fire at Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur on first day of third round blockade programme called by BNP and Jamaat early Wednesday (November 8).

Faizur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kaliganj Police Station, confirmed the matter.

Atiqur Rahman, duty officer of Kaliganj Fire Service, said, “Miscreants escaped by setting fire to a covered van in Galan area around 5 am. The matter was informed by calling 999 immediately.”

On information, a team of fire service rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control within 20 minutes.

Two persons have been injured in this connection, he added.
