Rod-laden truck set on fire in Noakhali

Miscreants have set fire to a rod-laden truck at Begumganj upazila in Noakhali on the second day of the third round of blockade called by BNP and Jamaat.

The incident took place in Aminbazar area under Amanullahpur union of the upazila early Thursday (November 9).

According to locals, miscreants set fire to the Laxmipur-bound truck loaded with rods in that area. It burnt the front part of the truck.

Later, a team from Chaumuhani Fire Service Station reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

However, no casualties were reported in this connection.

Confirming the incident, Begumganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Anwarul Islam said police are trying to nab those involved in setting fire to the truck.
