48-hour blockade: No impact seen in Barishal

Despite the call for a nationwide blockade by the BNP and its ally, there has been no sign of BNP activity in Barishal.

All bus services were running as normal, and there was no exceptional disruption to public transportation in any district of Barishal. However, the number of passengers on bus and launches were less comparatively.

People were seen moving as usual in markets, business firms, government and private offices. The law enforcers were seen alert in key points in the district.

Barishal Metropolitan Police commissioner Md Saiful Islam said no untoward situation is reported yet. Additional law enforcers were deployed in all important points in the city.
