Jubo League leader murdered in Gaibandha

Unknown assailants murdered a Jubo League leader by cutting the tendons of hands and legs in Shakhamara Bridge area under Sundarganj upazila in Gaibandha on Sunday night (November 12).

The deceased was known as Jahidul Islam, 35, son of Abul Hossain member, hailed from Baiddanath village of Sonaray union. The victim was Sonaray union Awami League Juba League president.

Police and local sources said the Juba League leader was returning home riding a motorcycle around 11:00pm from Bamandanga. Meanwhile, the miscreants stopped him in the area and stabbed his wrists and legs, leaving him critically injured. Later, he was taken to upazila health complex and shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Sundarganj police station Officer-in-Charge KM Azmiruzzaman confirmed the matter.
