11 burnt as gas cylinder blasts in Mymensingh

A total of 11 people, including children, sustained burn injuries after a gas cylinder exploded in Mymensingh city on Tuesday (November 14).
The incident took place in Char Kalibari area of the city around 1:30 pm.
Quoting locals, Fire Service and Civil Defence station officer Julhas Uddin said a local resident named Idris Ali had been selling balloons by inflating them with gas.
He was inflating the balloons with methane gas this afternoon from a cylinder and, suddenly, it exploded, leaving 11 people burnt.
Jahangir Alam, Sub-Inspector of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital said so far, 12 people have been admitted at the hospital in connection with the explosion.
Kotwali Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shah Kamal Akand said police are working to investigate the incident.
