Signal 7 for Mongla, Payra sea ports

The maritime ports of Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist danger signal No 7 while Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar danger signal No 6.

Acting officer of Patuakhali Meteorology Office, Mahbuba Sukhi confirmed the matter around 11:30am on Friday (November 17).

According to the met office, the storm was centred 270 km southwest of the Payra Port at 9 am.

Heavy rains with gusty winds are continuing over the sea and coastal areas under the influence of the frontal part of the storm.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the north bay and deep sea were advised to remain in shelter until further notice.

Acting officer of Patuakhali Meteorology Office Mahbuba Sukhi said the storm is likely to cross the coast on Friday noon.

Nur Kutubul Alam, Deputy Commissioner of Patuakhali district said all cyclone shelters were opened for locals. Sufficient stock of dry food is kept for post disaster response.
