Removal of coal from sunken lighter vessel starts

The process of removing coal has begun after a lighter vessel named MV Prince of Ghashiakhali-1 sank with 800 tons of coal in Pashur Channel of Mongla Port of Bagerhat on Friday noon.
Divers started removal of coal from the vessel on Saturday noon.
Owner Md Bashir Ahmed said the vessel will be rescued after removal of coal within four or five days.
The lighter vessel carrying 800 tons of coal sank near Kanainagar area on Friday noon. It was carrying goods from a foreign commercial ship stationed in Harbaria area and going to Nawapara in Jashore.
All 12 crew members managed to swim ashore.
