Case filed over setting fire to train in Jamalpur

A case has been filed in connection with the fire set to three carriages of the intercity Jamuna Express train near Sarishabari railway station in Jamalpur early Sunday (November 19).
Abdus Salam, assistant station master of Sarishabari railway station, filed the case against some unidentified people with Jamalpur Railway Police Station this morning.
At least four passengers were injured as unidentified miscreants set three carriages (Ka, Kha and Ga) of the train on fire at around 1:15 am after the Tarakandi-bound intercity train left Jamalpur’s Sarishabari railway station.
On information, two fire service teams along with police rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after two hours of their joint efforts.
Confirming the news, Jamalpur Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Gulzar Hossain said police are trying to arrest those involved in the incident.
