Miscreants have vandalized vehicles and exploded cocktails in Sylhet on second day of the 48-hour hartal called by BNP, Jamaat and like-minded political parties.
The incidents took place at Uposhohor Point of the city around 9 am on Monday (November 20).
Local sources said, a group of helmet-wearing miscreants put a barricade on the road and vandalized a truck and an auto-rickshaw. Later, they also blasted cocktails there.
Miscreants fled the scene when they came to know that police are coming there.
Suman Kumar Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Kotwali Model Police Station in Sylhet, confirmed the news.
“The miscreants were trying for picketing at Uposhohor Point of the city. They fled the scene when police chased them,” the OC said.
