Man lynched in Madaripur

A man has been lynched on suspicion of being a robber in Bazitpur area of Shibchar upazila in Madaripur.

The deceased was known as Mirzan Khalasi, son of late Abu Ali Khalasi.

Police said a five-member robber gang entered the house of one Abdul Halim early Tuesday (November 20). Meanwhile, sensing the presence of robbers, locals started shouting.

Later, they robbers attacked another house in the area and injured a villager named Tushar Hawladar. At one stage, locals rushed to the spot and beat two of them mercilessly, leaving them critically injured.

On information, Shibchar police station Sub-Inspector Golzar Hossain rushed to the spot and sent them upazila hospital where Mirzan died under treatment.
