Indian couple killed as truck hits private car in Satkhira

An Indian couple was killed and a driver was injured after an oil carrying truck smashed a private car on the Satkhira-Khulna road in Satkhira Sadar upazila on Saturday (November 25) morning.
The accident occurred at about 6:30am in front of the main gate of the Satkhira 33 BGB Camp.
Based on their passport information, the deceased were identified as Asim Kumar Biswas, 45, and his wife Chhobi Biswas, 36, residents of India’s West Bengal. Ashim was an engineer and involved in the construction work of Khulna-Mongla rail line.
The injured Sajib is the driver of the private car and now undergoing treatment at the Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
According to police and eyewitness, a private car was coming to Satkhira from Khulna. Suddenly, a Khulna-bound truck hit the car in front of the main gate of the Satkhira 33 BGB Camp, leaving the couple inside the car dead on the spot and driver injured.
The bodies were kept at Satkhira sadar Hospital morgue.
Satkhira Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahidul Islam confirmed the incident.
