Prisoner dies in Kashimpur Jail

A prisoner died in Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur on Saturday (November 25).

The death of convict Golap Rahman, 63, son of late Abdul Mia hailing from Chattogram, was confirmed by jail authority.

According to the jail authority, Golap Rahman was taken to the jail hospital when he suddenly fell sick inside the jail at noon. However, he was later sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated and he breathed his last there.

Mohammad Lutfor Rahman, jailer of Kashimpur High Security Jail, said a prisoner has died today.

He also said his body will be handed over to the relatives after legal procedures.
