Two killed in Dinajpur road crash

At least two people were killed when a covered van rammed a battery-run-auto rickshaw in Haldibari area of Parbartipur upazila in Dinajpur on Saturday night (November 25).

The deceased were known as Lalu, son of Atiqur Rahman, of Haldibari Dolapara area of Palashbari union, and Abdul Mazid, son of Abdus Sattar, hailed from Uttar Shalandar village.

Parbatipur Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Hasnath Khan said the accident took place in the area around 9:00 pm, leaving the van driver dead on the spot and injured three other people.

Later, the injured were sent to upazila health complex where duty doctors declared Abdul Mazid dead on the spot, the OC added.
