Fire at Kaliakair spinning mill

A fire broke out at Karatoa Spinning Mills Limited in Shafipur area of Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur at about 5:00am on Monday (November 27).

On information, two fire units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after two hours effort.

Fire service and factory authority sources said the fire originated at blue room machine of the factory early morning and spread to adjacent area instantly. Later, fire fighters managed to bring the fire under control around 7:00am.

Factory director (operation) Anwar Hossain said the extent of the loss could not be ascertained yet.

Gazipur fire service deputy director Abdullah Al Arefin said the cause of the fire could not be known immediately and no casualties were reported.
