4 of a family burnt in Munshiganj gas cylinder blast

Four members of a family sustained burn injuries after a gas cylinder exploded at a residential building in Munshiganj Sadar on Saturday (December 9).

The incident took place at Idrakpur area at about 6:30am.

The burn victims are Rizvi Ahmed Rasel, 45; his wife Rozi Aktar, 30 and their son Raiyan and Rizvi Ahmed’s mother.

Locals said the explosion happened with a big bang in the morning, leaving four people burnt in the fire. Later, firefighters and nearby people rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.

Fire service station officer Md Abu Yusuf said four members of a family were burnt after a gas cylinder exploded at a residential building. Initially, they were admitted to Munshiganj general hospital. Later, they were shifted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS) for better treatment when their health conditions deteriorated.
