Paturia-Daulatdia ferry service resumes after 8hrs

Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia waterway resumed after remaining closed for nearly eight hours due to dense fog.

The ferry service resumed at 9:30 this morning (December 10), said Abu Abdullah, manager of Aricha Regional Office of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC).

BIWTC Aricha office DGM Shah Md Khaled Newaz said from Saturday evening, moderate to thick fog occurred at places over the river basins. The ferry's marking lights became invisible due to the fog around 1:00 am. Meanwhile, four ferries were stuck in the middle of the river.

Later, ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route were suspended to avoid accidents on the waterway.
