Fertiliser-laden ship capsizes in Karnaphuli River

A ship carrying fertiliser capsized near the Sadarghat area of Karnaphuli river on Sunday night (December 10).

12 crew members of vessel managed to swim ashore but one remained missing after the incident.

Media wing of Chattogram Coast Guard East Zone confirmed the matter.

Witnesses and Coast Guard sources said that the ship started to sink around 10:00 pm. Meanwhile, on information, coast guard and local boats rushed to the spot and rescued 12 crew members.
