EC serves show-cause notice to Mahiya Mahi

The Election Commission has served a show-cause notice to Dhallywood actress Sharmin Akhter Nipa alias Mahiya Mahi, an independent candidate for Rajshahi-1 constituency, for breaching the election code of conduct.

Sessions Judge Md Abu Sayed, also chairman of election investigation committee of the constituency, served the show-cause notice.

According to the notice, she has been asked to give an explanation on December 17.

General Secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote and Dhallywood actress Sharmin Akhter Nipa alias Mahiya Mahi will contest in the constituency as an independent candidate.
