Mahiya Mahi gets truck

General Secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote and Dhallywood actress Sharmin Akhter Nipa alias Mahiya Mahi, contesting the parliamentary polls as an independent candidate, has been allotted truck as her electoral symbol.

Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Shamim Ahmed allotted the symbol on Monday (Dec 18) morning.

Mahiya Mahi herself chose the electoral symbol.

The actress will contest in Rajshahi-1 constituency (Godagari-Tanore).    

The Election Commission started allocating electoral symbols to candidates on Monday. After getting symbols, candidates can continue their campaign till 8am on January 5.
