Child burnt in Ctg fire dies

A child named Aritri Chakraborty (6) died after her clothes caught fire from a candle lit at a place of worship at Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram.

The child succumbed to her burn injuries early Tuesday (December 19) while undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn & Plastic Surgery in Dhaka.

Popadia union parishad member Kishore Bhanj confirmed the news.

Rajib Palit, a relative of the deceased, said Aritri sustained burn injuries after her clothes caught fire from a candle lit at a place of worship at her residence at Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram.

The baby was initially taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. Later, she was shifted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn & Plastic Surgery in Dhaka for better treatment as her health condition worsened. She succumbed to her injuries early today while undergoing treatment there.
