Clash between traders leaves 1 dead in B’baria

A trader was killed in a factional clash in Baghaura village of Shibpur union under Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Tuesday (December 19).

The deceased was known as Safinur, 35, son of Hafiz Mia of the village.

Police and local sources said following a previous enmity, Foyjur Rahman, son of Kaium, and his cohorts attacked the victim on Tuesday night, leaving him critically injured. Later, he was taken to Nabinagar upazila health complex where duty doctor declared him dead.

Confirming the matter, Nabinagar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbub Alam said additional police forcers were deployed in the area.
