Country to face economic, political crisis without good election: EC Anisur

Election Commissioner Anisur Rahman has said the country will face an economic and political crisis if we fail to hold a good election.
The Election Commissioner made the remark while exchanging views with candidates, election officers and officers of law enforcing agencies in Brahmanbaria ahead of 12th national election on Friday.
Anisur Rahman said, “There is no alternation to holding the free and fair election. The country will face an economic and political crisis if we fail to hold a good election. The Prime Minister has clearly told us that position is not matter, if someone does something wrong, actions should be taken against him or her”.
He vowed to take immediate actions including dismissals and departmental actions against ‘biased’ election officials.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Md. Shakhawat Hossain and BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Ashiq Hasan Ullah were also present.
