Railways Minister served show-cause notice

Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, the Awami League candidate for Panchagarh-2, has been served a show-cause notice for violating the electoral code of conduct.

Panchagarh Assistant Judge Ismail Hossain, also the chairman of the Election Enquiry Committee for Panchagarh-2 constituency, sent the notice on Tuesday noon.

The minister has been asked to appear in person at the temporary office of the enquiry committee at 12 pm on December 27 and reply to the show-cause notice.

According to the notice, the minister violated the electoral code of conduct by threating voters.
