Two killed over land dispute in Patuakhali

Two people were killed in a clash over land dispute at Atashkhali village of Adabaria union under Bauphal upazila in Patuakhali on Tuesday night (December 26).

The deceased were known as Md Selim Munshi, 40, son of Alam Munshi, and Alauddin Munshi, 50, son of late Amir Munshi.

Police and local sources said there had been a longstanding dispute between Selim Munshi and Alauddin Munshi over a piece of land.

Centering the dispute, two groups locked in a clash yesterday night. They equipped with home-made weapons attacked each other, leaving Selim Munshi dead on the spot. Later, Alauddin Munshi died due to cardiac arrest.

Confirming the matter, Bauphal Additional Police Super Saddam Hossain said police drive is underway to arrest the culprits.
