Hot tea poured on child’s body over election

An allegation has found that a supporter of a candidate has poured hot tea on the body of a child as he mistakenly went to their election office.

The incident took place in Mordana area of Shibganj upazila of the district on Thursday (December 28) night.

The injured child is Lalchan Ali, son of Sumon Ali of the locality.

The child’s family alleged that his father is a supporter of independent candidate Syed Nazrul Islam. The child mistakenly went to the election office of Awami League candidate near their home and at that time a Ruhul Amin poured hot tea on his body.

The child was immediately taken to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex. Later, he was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibganj Thana Md Sajjad Hossain  said a police team has been sent to the spot.
