Police to open fire if anyone tries to snatch ballot: Feni SP

Superintendent of Feni Police Zakir Hasan opined that there are instructions to shoot to protect ballot boxes and papers.

The SP made the remark while addressing motivational meeting of voters organised by the District Information Office at Zero Point of Daganbhuiyan Bazar in the district on Thursday (December 28).

He said, “There are instructions to shoot to protect ballot boxes and papers. The Election Commission has instructions to open fire on any miscreant who would try to snatch ballots and voting equipment. On January 7, you will be able to cast your vote without any difficulties."

The SP also said presiding officer, polling officer will not be allowed to carry mobile phones in the polling booth. Voters are also not allowed to take mobile phones.

District election officer Mohammad Rezaul Karim, Daganbhuiyan upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Nibedita Chakma, Daganbhuiyan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Hasim attended the function.
