Youth detained for attempt to abduct MP

A youth has been detained for allegedly attempting to abduct Dr. Abdul Aziz, the current law maker and Awami League candidate for Sirajganj-3 constituency, from a public rally.

The detainee is Nurul Islam Pramanik, 40, son of Azizul Haque, at Kalupara village under the district’s Tarash upazila.

The youth attempted to abduct him from Bhuiyangati bus stand area of Ghukra union under Raiganj upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

Police immediately detained him when he was trying to adduct him on the dais.

Nurul Islam claimed that he was the convener of Krishok League of Tarash upazila unit.
